I first scribbled the words on paper two weeks ago, and I meant to post this on the 16th of September. So it&#8217;s late. I hope you enjoy it anyway.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh, look at the calendar. It\u2019s my birthday.<\/p>\n<p>I used to have a girlfriend born the same day, so there was never a good excuse for forgetting. Her hair was reddish brown, or brownish reds, and her eyes were vibrant, and she had a wicked right hook.<\/p>\n<p>She asked me, \u201cDo you know what day it is today?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThursday?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s our birthdays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh.\u201d I probably blinked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou forgot?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI forgot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cake they brought you at work, that didn\u2019t clue you in any?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI figured it was somebody\u2019s birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYours. It was your birthday. Is your birthday. And mine. Did you remember to get me something this year?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, no, but I wanted to be cute or romantic, so I said, \u201cA kiss?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That was when she shot me.<\/p>\n<p>Forgetfulness isn\u2019t my only superpower. So, she\u2019s gone now. Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yeah, the calendar. Today\u2019s my birthday.
