What if my eyes were green?\u00c2\u00a0 Would my life have taken a different turn?\u00c2\u00a0 Would things have been different enough in, say tenth grade, that I would’ve walked a different path?\u00c2\u00a0 Could the color of your eyes have that great an impact?\u00c2\u00a0 Would I see things differently?\u00c2\u00a0 What would people see in me, or expect from me, that they don’t see or expect in brown?<\/p>\n

Until about 10 years ago, I wore contact lenses.\u00c2\u00a0 These muted the true color of my eyes.\u00c2\u00a0 I didn’t know.<\/p>\n

My eyes are not green.\u00c2\u00a0 But what if they were?<\/p>\n

The most fascinating eyes I’ve ever seen, with apologies to all who have eyes that should’ve been the most fascinating I’ve ever seen, were a girl whose eyes shifted between brown and green.\u00c2\u00a0 They changed with the slightest movement of her head, a change of focus, with an inhalation of breath.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m still not sure if those eyes were even real.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
