It may be merely a bridge to you.
But to the man with the canvas, it is Inspiration.
If you were having trouble finding your own inspiration, look to the very things you see every day in your own life, but look to them with an artist’s eye and see what you might never before have seen.
You’ve gotta wonder what they’re up to.
They look to be involved in deep, dangerous mischief.
A few others are off to the side smoking cigars.
One’s showing off their butterfly knife skills.
They are, for the record, quite skilled. Overly skilled, even. Excessively skillful.
This was the piano I found.
This was the guy playing it.
He was good.
Later, a girl played it.
She was good, too, but not as colorful.
It’s time to take a little break, a breath, a moment to yourself.
Even in the city, you can do this.
Turn the ringer off your phone, put your back to the building, lean against the car, take a deep breath, and don’t think.
Yeah, I said Don’t Think. Just for a moment.
A better title was suggested, so now it’s “Pirates of Industry”. Argh!
Sometimes, a thing stands out. Sometimes, that thing is flowers.
Sometimes, that thing is the color of a woman’s fingernails, or the taste of a sauce, or the aroma of cinnamon.
Part of the point, I think, is to take the time to notice the things that are meant to be noticed.
