There’s irony here, considering I write books with titles like NECROPOLIS and SINS OF BLOOD AND STONE, but they let me carry the sign for a moment and I got my shot.
When I first got there, one of the girls gave me a pamphlet. I accepted it. She said thanks, and walked away. Apparently, I wasn’t worth the effort to be saved.
I had to look through three versions of the Bible (yes, I have at least that many) before finding this quote exactly. It was in a Gideon Bible.
I think I’m going to Hell for this.
As a point, I should add that I did not do this to be in any way condescending. I liked the sign.
