What if my eyes were green? Would my life have taken a different turn? Would things have been different enough in, say tenth grade, that I would’ve walked a different path? Could the color of your eyes have that great an impact? Would I see things differently? What would people see in me, or expect from me, that they don’t see or expect in brown?
Until about 10 years ago, I wore contact lenses. These muted the true color of my eyes. I didn’t know.
My eyes are not green. But what if they were?
The most fascinating eyes I’ve ever seen, with apologies to all who have eyes that should’ve been the most fascinating I’ve ever seen, were a girl whose eyes shifted between brown and green. They changed with the slightest movement of her head, a change of focus, with an inhalation of breath. I’m still not sure if those eyes were even real.
